We can do this.

You know what is crazy to me – I have restarted so many times.
I’d probably have AT LEAST $10 more to my name if I had $1 for every time I said “this time is different” to myself. But, you know what, this time IS different.
I was thinking yesterday and I was talking about my recent weight loss (I am down 14 lbs, roughly 5% of my weight! Holla!) and I said that the single biggest factor is taking the emotion out of eating. For me, food has always been connected to emotion – in my friend/family groups, we traditionally eat when we are happy/sad/mad/stressed/etc. My dietician – a smart lady who I will happily introduce to anyone who needs help with finding the right nutritional balance – said at our very first meeting that I have all the pieces, we just need to find out how to put the puzzle together.
She could not have been more right. Cultivating a positive and peaceful relationship with food is exactly what I needed to do. I have never felt more satisfied AND seen the scale go down consistently week after week. I am working really hard to take away the guilt associated with some foods and it is working! That paired with my May goal of a minimum of 30 minutes of cardio per day (which I think I will continue for a June goal too) has given me great results and I cannot remember the last time I felt this good!

We can do this, guys!
