May Challenges

I know we’re already a week into May, but it’s never too late! Today, I just wanted to write about some challenges that I’m doing this month.

  1. Have at least half of my workouts for the week outside, or spend at least an hour outside being active after my workout.
  2. Step war! My sister just got a Polar watch and I have a Fitbit so we are going to compete to see who gets the most steps in over the next month.
  3. Track EVERYTHING I eat (I use myfitnesspal).

I must say, the first challenge has been my favorite. My husband and I go outside every day to play softball, tennis, or just go on a long walk in the park. It’s been good for my soul, and my  husband and I get quality 1 on 1 time to wind down after a long day.  We also just bought a kayak and even though I got severely sunburnt last week, I’m still so stoked to use it all summer!

Tracking my food has also made a world of difference. I had plateaued for over a month until I stared logging and tracking calories. I know it’s not for everyone and it’s a pain in the butt to get used to, but I’ve lost 4 lbs since I started 2 weeks ago.  I finally feel like I’m 100% back on track now!
