It may be a bit premature, but I am already thinking about rewards. Too often in the past, I have tried to force myself to believe that I must be entirely deprived of certain foods in order to lose weight. In fact, that is not the case. I have learned that I do much better… Continue reading Rewards
As of 7:31 this morning, I weigh 258 pounds. That is a total loss of 4.5 pounds this week! This really shows me that I was in desperate need of cleaning up my eating. Just by making smarter choices, eating less potatoes and breads, I dropped down into the 250s! Moving forward, my goal is… Continue reading 12.21.15 Weekly Weigh In
After reading this quote I just had to post it. Some days, I am a fitness queen: I workout like I should, I eat like I should, and drink 1000 gallons of water. Other days I ask myself “do I really need to get off the couch today?” The answer is YES. YOU HAVE GOALS – get off the damn couch!
I can never predict when my motivation is going to escape me, so my best bet is to surround myself with it. That’s what this site is all about. Whenever I feel like quitting and just giving up, I want my Fit Fam to be there for me, just like I’m always here for you. You know the saying “You’re just cheating yourself”? That could not be truer in this lifestyle we’re trying to create. Every time you “sneak” an extra cheat meal or skip a workout the only person that’s being negatively impacted is yourself. You’ve got to work hard toward your goals every minute of every single day.
And we’re here to help. Please don’t ever hesitate to message or email me in a time of weakness. I promise I’ll need your help too 🙂 My favorite 2 means of motivation are this blog, and my fitness instagram. Like I said- surround yourself with people who have the same goals as you. Please don’t compare yourself to someone else, but work together to encourage one another. That’s what this is all about and I’m so grateful for everyone who has helped me so far along the way.
I also want to note that it is okay to miss some workouts and not eat 100% ALL of the time, we’re human. It is so important to listen to your body. The other day I had to take an impromptu rest day because I was so beat up from the day before. There is nothing wrong with that. I’d rather let my body rest for one day than risk hurting myself and being out for weeks. So pay attention to what your body is telling you.
One of the most challenging things about cleaning up my eating is dealing with cravings. I am ((slowly)) learning to listen to what my body needs instead of what my brain tells me (which, oftentimes, is to eat everything on my plate and then to eat any leftovers from the meal, too). Yesterday and today… Continue reading Cravings
Hi guys! I wanted to take a minute to talk about juicing and what that means for me. There are so many different articles on juicing online right now- good and bad, and they all have some good points. For me, juicing is a way to re-boot and de-bloat. It is DEFINITELY not for everyone.… Continue reading Juicing
Today I want to talk about water. There are so many benefits to staying hydrated! Not only does drinking a lot of water throughout my day keep my cravings at bay, it also keeps my skin clear, makes me feel energized, and gives me a goal (to drink a gallon during my 8 hour work… Continue reading H2O
If you’re like me, it’s really difficult to stay “on track” throughout the weekend- one treat meal becomes a whole cheat weekend. This is why I am choosing Mondays to be our weigh in (or measurement tracking if you prefer) day. This way, knowing that I will have to weigh in Monday, I will have… Continue reading Weekly ..eek! Weigh In
Welcome to heyfitsisters! For those of you who don’t know, I started my fitness journey about a year ago. With 6 months of healthy eating and regular workouts I was down about 45 pounds. I always had a sister or friend to work out with, so it never really occurred to me how much that accountability… Continue reading Welcome!
I am so incredibly excited to be on this journey with my sister. “If you want something you’ve never had, you must be willing to do something you have never done” (debatable Thomas Jefferson quote). I have struggled with my weight my entire life – even when I played sports and was an active kid,… Continue reading Accountability
